What is Virtual Places?
VP (Virtual Places) is free Internet chat software. Anyone with access to the Internet can download the Virtual Places chat client and join the fun!

Browse the Web While Chatting!
The chat room�s background is the web page of your choice! Anyone else visiting the page through VP will also be shown in the room as an avatar. See below if you don�t know what an avatar is.

What is the Pink Triangle?
The Pink Triangle is a web page which is also a chat room. This is possible because VP can use web pages as backgrounds for chat rooms. This page is sponsored by the Pink Triangle II. How does the Program Work?
When you start the software you first log on to the community. After that you choose the room you want to chat in. You can locate your friends and go to the room they are in or you can just go to your old haunt. You will find VP a very friendly place! Here is a screen shot of the program in action! You will be shown as an avatar in the room. Your text-based chat will be shown in balloons coming from your avatar.

Avatars
Avatars (Avs) are your virtual self. As a chatter, you can choose (or make) a little picture of yourself to be shown in the room. This picture represents you. You can move it around and even connect it to someone else for a private discussion. Below are 3 examples of avatars which can be used in the chat rooms. You can also make an image of yourself if you wish.

Gestures
Gestures are simply small animations with sound that you can play in the rooms. You can make your own, get them from other chatters, or download them from one of the many VP sites on the web.

Tours
You can hop aboard a tour or make on of your own. Everyone who joins the tour (up to 11 people) will all be taken to wherever the tour�s creator goes. This is great for showing a group of people one site at once.

Instant Messages
You don�t have to be in the same room as someone to talk to them. You can send almost anyone using VP an instant message. These are private too.
